College of Hospitality Management Students Hold " Summer Party: Seas the Moment" Cocktail Event as Midterm Laboratory

APR 04

On April 4, 2025, the third-year students of the College of Hospitality Management successfully conducted their Midterm Laboratory for their subject Catering Management through a vibrant cocktail party with the theme “Summer Party: Seas the Moment.” The event, held under the supervision of the students’ instructor, Ms. Mary Ann Joy Delos Reyes, offered students a real-world opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge to an actual event setting.

The activity emphasized key aspects of catering management such as theme construction, menu planning, and event execution. From conceptualization to implementation, the students were responsible for designing the summer-inspired atmosphere, curating a special cocktail and mocktail menu, and managing the overall flow of the party.

The celebration was filled with dancing, singing, food tasting, and live performances, where some students showcased their talents.

Central to the activity was the food and beverage service, which highlighted the students’ skills in menu selection and guest service. Guests, including members of the Academic and Administrative Councils as well as faculty members, were treated to a delightful array of dishes, such as grilled beef burgers, chicken skewers, fresh lumpia, fresh spring rolls, mango panna cotta, saba con yelo de leche, mais con yelo de leche, and fresh sliced fruits. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared by the students to perfectly match the refreshing summer vibe of the party.

This hands-on laboratory provided the students with an excellent opportunity to demonstrate their creativity, teamwork, organizational skills, and practical understanding of catering operations, preparing them for future professional experiences in the hospitality industry.
