Criminology Week 2025: Criminology Students Compete in Different Sports - Showcase of Sportsmanship and School Spirit

The College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) week celebration successfully wrapped up a competitive and exciting sports celebration filled with high energy and spirited participation. Various teams competed in basketball, volleyball, badminton, Mobile Legends, Call of Duty: Mobile, and traditional Filipino games. The battle was held from April 3 to 4, 2025, at different venues attracting a large number of students and faculty who came out to support their respective teams.
In the men's basketball division, Blue Sutherland emerged as the champions, demonstrating impressive teamwork and strategic prowess against the competitive Green Gardner in the championship match at Barangay Canarvacanan Basketball Court. Consequently, the Green Gardner placed second and the Yellow Dewey rounded out the podium as the third placer in a hard-fought tournament. On the other hand, in the women's division, Green Gardner claimed the championship title with an impressive display of athleticism that put them ahead of the determined Purple Skinner, who secured second place with a commendable performance. Yellow Dewey, finished strong as a third placer.
Meanwhile, the volleyball games, held at the old division office, saw Blue Sutherland once again clinch the top spot in the men's division. Their consistent dominance was challenged by Black Bentham, who took second place, and Purple Skinner, who secured third place. In the women’s volleyball division, Yellow Dewey delivered a commanding performance to take first place. Green Gardner earned second place, while Red Wild followed in third spot.
The badminton tournament showcased agility, strategy, and sheer determination across various categories. In the men’s singles, Crystal Jade Dacaynan (Purple Skinner) won the championship match against Zeal Marc Gaseli (Black Bentham), who took second place. Subsequently, in the men’s doubles category, the dynamic duo Christian Paul Tuvera and Filip Alcaide from Black Bentham captured the top honors with a well-coordinated performance.
On the women’s side, Singles A and B: Shamel Delmendo and April Joy Longay of Blue Sutherland swept the top spots in their respective categories. Doubles: Loren Milar and Jomar Joy Casem of Yellow Dewey stood out with a winning combination that earned them first place.
In E-Sports, the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) segment featured two of the most popular mobile games in the Philippines: Mobile Legends and Call of Duty: Mobile.
In Mobile Legends, Purple Skinner's flawless shot-calling guided their team to victory, securing first place. Although Yellow Dewey put up a strong fight, they fell short of the champions, finishing in second. Meanwhile, Black Bentham took home the third place.
On the other hand, Yellow Dewey aimed well to perfectly get the chapionshiop troopy in the Call of Duty: Mobile. Blue Sutherland and Black Bentham achieved commendable performances, securing second and third places, respectively, in the battle arena. Both teams demonstrated remarkable competitiveness, engaging in a closely contested matchup.
Adding a cultural touch to the competition, Laro ng Lahi added a delightful sense of nostalgia and excitement to the celebration. Black Bentham finished first in the Sack Race. While, the Amazing Race and the Tug of war were dominated by purple skinner, showcasing their strength and teamwork in a display of friendly rivalry.
While winners were awarded and titles earned, the true essence of CCJE Week lies beyond the medals and rankings. The energy, unity, and sportsmanship displayed throughout the games reaffirmed the college’s commitment to holistic development and camaraderie.
